About the society

The Imperial College Bioengineering Society is the official departmental society of the Bioengineering Department at Imperial College London, representing all undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students. Every student in the department can become a member free of charge, making us one of the largest and most inclusive student communities at Imperial.

The society was founded just over a decade ago by postgraduate students who wanted to create more than just academic excellence, they envisioned a space where bioengineers could connect, collaborate, and support one another across all levels of study. That vision continues today, with the society acting as the hub for both academic and social life in the department.

Our mission is to enrich the student experience in bioengineering: to connect people across cohorts, provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, and strengthen the sense of community in one of Imperial’s most interdisciplinary fields.
